Edna McKee-Houston Scrapbooks
Scope and Contents
The two scrapbooks from Edna McKee Houston detail her life while attending the Pennsylvania College for Women (P.C.W.) and shortly afterward as well as events in which P.C.W and alumnae were mentioned. The first scrapbook covers the years of 1897 – 1907 and includes photographs of her classmates, scenery, rooms, and events. The second scrapbook ranges from 1901 to 1918, containing only newspaper clippings from those years. The clippings detail events which she was part of as well as mentions of people connected to P.C.W.

Biographical or Historical Information
Edna (Garfielda) McKee attended the Pennsylvania College for Women (P.C.W.) from 1900 – 1904. Her senior thesis was titled, "The Lesson of the `Idylls of the King.'” McKee was an active member in the Alumnae Association, the Young Women’s Christian Association, the College Club, and the Red Cross. She was the head of P.C.W.’s Decade Club IV 1901-1910, a subset of the P.C.W. Alumnae Association. Edna McKee Houston was of treasurer of the Alumnae Association during the 1940s Building Fund for P.C.W. Edna McKee Houston died at the age of 102 in 1983 and is buried at Union Dale Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA.
